The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium June 2020 visit

We were so excited to visit the zoo the other weekend! We visited the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Columbus Ohio that just reopened for visitors due to Covid-19. Just to give you a quick run down on how to get tickets in this pandemic world, visit their website first, then click on the menu button. At the bottom of the screen will have a ticket button to click. This will take you to the menu to get you tickets and reservation time to enter the zoo. Since we had purchased a season pass previously, I selected the membership reservation option. This will allow you to select how many are in your party and a time to enter the zoo. After you make your selections then an email is sent to you to either print off or you can show your phone screen to them a the gate. We made our reservations a couple of days in advance and picked the 11a.m. time slot. We actually got there about 11:30am, but admission is for the current admission time and earlier times, so if you get there a little late you will still be admitted. All employees are required to wear a mask, but visitors are not required to at this time. (Edit to add: face mask are to be worn inside buildings and areas were social distancing is not possible) Also due to precautions, no printed maps are available, but you can download a map from their website. They have cute little paw prints to help mark social distancing spaces while in lines for admission and food and hand sanitizer is also available in these areas. Rides are available, but please be patient as things have to be cleaned between each rider.

check out the new area at the Zoo called Adventure Cove. We loved the Sea Lions! The inside underground viewing area was closed off during our visit, but viewing windows for underwater viewing are available around the complex that are outside.

The stingrays are available for viewing, but you cannot touch or feed them at this time.

As all of us are limited in our travel options at this time, visiting places closer to home are great options. I hope that this glimpse of our day at the zoo helps you prepare for your visit soon!
