Drury Plaza Riverwalk San Antonio Review

This summer we went to Texas to visit family. For a side trip, I really wanted to visit San Antonio to see the Alamo. For most of our trip, we were staying in the Austin area and it made the most sense to fly there and drive to San Antonio. I have to admit the traffic was more than I was anticipating, as it seemed to be busy driving into San Antonio no matter the time of day.

Arriving at the Drury Plaza Riverwalk, we pulled into the parking garage area and had to wait a bit as all vehicles are parked via valet. However, we had rented a Tesla for our stay and that is one car that they have you park yourself. The attendant got us our parking tag and we unloaded and checked in while my husband parked the car.

Since we were staying only one night, I splurged a bit and got a suite. The suites are in a separate section and require two elevators to get there. We got off the elevator on the 6th floor and I was a bit confused at first because the next set of elevators that I came to were service elevators, and I thought I had gone the wrong direction. Go past these elevators to get to the elevators that go to the tower the suites are in.

Here is a reel of our room:

The video below is of the living room area and it has a sleeper sofa.

We did arrive in time for the food that is served in the evening for the 5:30 Kickback. It also includes a drink ticket for up to 3 drinks.

The outside pool was closed due to a thunderstorm storm that evening, but we were able to enjoy the indoor pool and hot tub. Later that night we got pizza from Teller’s Bar while we relaxed in our suite. The real star at Drury’s is the breakfast the next morning that is included with your stay.

From the hotel we walked to the Alamo for our tour and then got on a Go Rio River Cruise. We picked up the river cruise at the Aztec theater that is catty corner to the hotel, since we left our car in the parking garage while we did a little sightseeing.

Overall, I was very happy with our stay and impressed with our first time using this hotel chain. The hotel is in a great location for sightseeing along the Riverwalk.
