Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando Review 2021 and Staying Off Site for WDW

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a visit to WDW. Disadvantages would be ride share park pickup and drop-off lines if arriving at park opening and closing, and if you have to worry about car seats and strollers for young kids as opposed to staying on-site and using Disney transportation. Another would be that the pool is geared for older kids. Another disadvantage is that Disney resorts guests have extra hours available at the parks starting October 1, 2021. Advantages are that the resort has so much to do and has a fabulous pool for older kids, and ride share to the parks didn’t take any longer than taking Disney transportation to the parks as far as the duration of the ride itself. Lastly, the price was great using points for our stay and definitely worth the use of your points.

Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak Scavenger Hunt

We did Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak Scavenger Hunt at EPCOT’s Food and Wine festival. It was a fun way to tour the park. From Disney’s site: “Once you’ve found them all, bring your completed map to Disney Traders, World Read more…

Coopertown Airboat Tour Visit

At the end of our Florida Keys visit, we drove back to Ft. Lauderdale taking a route along the edge the Everglades. We didn’t have this previously planned, but decided to try to find an airboat ride along the way. Just outside of Miami is this neat and affordable stop that gives you a taste of the Everglades.

After leaving Key West and on the way back to stay in Key Largo, we stopped at Bahia Honda State Park at mile marker 37 for an afternoon beach break. At the entrance, there is a fee to pay at the gate

Fort Zachary Taylor State Park

This is definitely a must do in Key West for families. It has the fort for the educational aspect and a pretty nice beach by Florida Key standards. You can also launch your kayak, picnic, fish and snorkel here. We only visited the fort and beach on the day we were here. When you arrive, you pay an entrance fee at the gate.

Hyatt Centric Key West Resort and Spa review

Final thoughts on this resort are that you really can’t go wrong with your stay here using Hyatt points. If you were paying cash, it might get expensive with your room rate plus resort and parking fees. Key West is not really a budget stay without using points

On our drive down through they Florida Keys, we spent a couple of nights in Marathon. To save some money, I booked a hotel that didn’t have an expensive resort and/or parking fees. The hotel I booked did have a Read more…

Key Largo Resorts: Playa Largo or Baker’s Cay

On our recent trip though the Florida Keys, we stayed one night each at Playa Largo Resort and Baker’s Cay Resort. I booked both nights through the Chase Travel portal using Ultimate Rewards points to pay for our booking. When researching for this trip, it seemed to me that both resorts were kind of competing for the same type of travelers and thought it would be interesting to stay at each to compare them.
