Mohican Lodge and Conference Center Review

Mohican Lodge in Perrysville, Ohio

We recently stayed at the Mohican Lodge at Mohican State Park. The layout is very similar to other state park lodges built around the same time. It is often much easier to get around by going outside the lodge going to and from your room. This lodge has and outdoor pool with a kiddy pool and and indoor pool. I was kind of surprised there was no hot tub, but there is a dry sauna in the indoor pool area.

The rooms are nice and have been recently been updated. Each room has a small balcony. The room has two sinks with the second sink being outside the bathroom for an extra area for families to get ready for their day.

Upon arrival, I took a walk on the lakeside trail to get a layout of the facilities available. There is a small playground near the lodge and down the trail a bit is the tennis court and basketball court.

In the main lodge there are two areas that have games. In the hallway near the pools is this first arcade area

Upstairs, off the main lounge/ check-in area, is a second game room with some arcade type games, but also some classic games such as a checkers and chess table and ping pong.

We only stayed one night, so we only had dinner and breakfast here, but I was impressed how good it was. I had a light supper as we had a big lunch before arriving, but I highly recommend the bruschetta appetizer.

For breakfast, we opted for the buffet: scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, oatmeal, pancakes, bacon, sausage patties and potatoes are served.

I thought this was a solid choice for a place to stay if visiting the area. We were going to sightsee in Mansfield the next day, and to visit there, it is a bit of a drive for us from home. If planning on visited Mansfield from there, it is about a 30 minute drive. (See our blog post about our visit to The Ohio State Reformatory and our Instagram post on the Kingwood Center Gardens.) This state park has many attractions nearby, such Malabar Farm State Park, and would be a great family getaway. The Mohican area is best known to me for the kayak and canoe livery available and is very popular in the summer.

I will leave you with the best view available at the Mohican Lodge
