Otherworld Ohio Review

We visited Otherworld in Columbus, Ohio the other day. Otherworld is an art museum in east Columbus located in an old strip mall. The tickets are purchased in advance on the website with a timed entry time. The ticket is sent to your phone and you present the QR code on your phone at the lobby for check in. The premise of the exhibit is that your are a beta tester for a research company that is researching alternate realm tourism. Upon arriving at the facility, you find that it is abandoned, but you can view video logs left behind by the staff. As you wander around the facility, you break through to these alternate realms. Upon entering the exhibit, enter the room on your right to begin.

Keep in mind in most rooms there is something interactive about it. After seeing some other reviews, I did realize that there were a few interactive things I missed. (FYI in the phonograph room, play records on it and see what happens). I was expecting that there was a puzzle to solve based on other reviews, but if there was, I didn’t find it. Most interactive things involved either sounds and /or lights being activated by certain actions.

Don’t be afraid to touch things and try it out to see what happens, that is really the only way to experience this exhibit. There is hand sanitizer everywhere too. There are tunnels that you can crawl though, but each of those areas are also accessible by a regular doorway, so you will not miss anything if you do not crawl though those.

Overall, it is a neat and different experience. My son was not that excited by it, so it may not be something that everyone loves. We spent an hour going through this exhibit trying to make sure we saw everything. At the end, go to the curtained hallway to make sure you didn’t miss an rooms.
